
Head Coach Greg Shepard
High School:
Greg grew up in Manitowoc. After moving to Kewaunee as a
Sophomore he was 1st-team All-Packerland selection in Baseball
all 3 years. As a senior he was Packerland Conference Player
of the Year and District IV Player of the Year while compiling
a record of 10-0, 140 strikeouts in 70 innings, and a 0.36
ERA. The season included a 21 strikeout performance against
Gibraltar and a 10 inning no-hitter vs. Mishicot in the
Regional Semi-finals. This landed him on the All-State
baseball team as a senior. Greg holds school records for
stolen bases in a season (21), wins in a season (10), strike
outs in a game (21), strike outs in a season (140) and career
wins (23). After completing his senior year he participated in
the All-Star Classic going 2-0 for the North squad that went 2
-2. As a legion participant for the summer he gained the
leagues Most Valuable Pitcher Award going 6-0 with 83 K's in
41 innings. Greg was selected for the State Legion All-Star
game at County Stadium and went 1 for 1 with a RBI triple.
College:
During his 2 years at Marian College he compiled a record of
11-1 and set school records for wins in a season (9) and K's
in a season (71). As a Freshman he pitched in the College
World Series. During his Sophomore season he made the All
Conference and All District 1st Teams as a pitcher, which
included a no-hitter vs Lakeland College. He played on 2
conference championship teams at Marian. After transfering to
St. Norbert College for the 1996 season, he played on the only
2 conference championship teams in school history. While at
SNC Greg compiled a record of 12-1 and gained 1st Team All
-Conference both seasons and All Midwest Region as a Junior.
During the Spring of 1998 Greg worked as the Knights pitching
coach.
Reedsville:
Greg enters his 4th season at Reedsville in 2002 compiling a
record of 26-28. During Greg's first season at Reedsville he
guided the club to a 13-7 record and a berth in the Sectional
Semi's.
Manitowoc Legion:
Greg enters his 9th year with the Manitowoc American Legion
program, his 8th as the Varsity Head Coach. Greg's career
coaching record for Manitowoc is 110-114, which includes State
Tournament appearances in 1998 and 2000. The Legion Club
of '98 finished 24-8 and 5th at the State Tournament.
Greg Lives in Appleton with his wife Angie, and is pursing a
2nd degree in Elementary Education at UW-Oshkosh.
